Federal guidelines mandate that students with disabilities receive special ed related services according to their IEP, and many schools do not have enough therapists to fill this need. How has teletherapy helped your school to maintain compliance with SPED guidelines?
I have seen many schools that aren’t able to find enough in-house therapists. They utilize teletherapy to fill the gap so that all the students receive the IEP services they need and the school stays compliant.
The supervision of SLPAs is a great way to utilize teletherapy to maintain compliance. Not only does it allow for non-invasive supervision, it allows the supervising SLP to attend multiple meetings, complete evaluations, and supervise all in one day across multiple settings. It’s much easier to be in multiple places virtually!
